【JASSO】アメリカ留学への給付型奨学金〜What is your study plan in the USA?〜

本記事では、JASSO日本学生支援機構学部学位取得型受験生が出願書類についての採用学生のアイディアを掴めるように、当時の私応募書類を参考にしながらご紹介していきます。

特に、４年間の留学計画をわかりやすく説明するためにエクセルで作成した表を写真としてワードに写真として取り込むなど工夫しています。

➊What is your 4-years plan for university?

 1. Many students participate in internships and have the opportunity to learn about economics in practice.

2. Students can double major, and the college has a system to support students who are passionate about their studies.

3. In addition to taking courses in their major fields, there are six strict graduation requirements, and students can acquire a wide range of education.

(Graduation requirement)
(1) Take a first-year course to improve the skills of making papers required at four years of the university. (2) Take courses in a balanced general education from five fields: art, anthropology, natural science, social science, and mathematics.
(3) Take courses to intensively improve reading or writing skills.
(4) Internship (off-campus activities).
(5) Take courses that respond to globalization by learning subjects with other country’s perspectives.
(6) “Graduation thesis”: Making it by repeated consultation with advisors as to the culmination.
Through my major in economics, I would like to acquire general education and specialized knowledge of the economy that can be applied in the international community to achieve my dream.

❷How can you describe alumni? Are they good?

Huge parts of the student’s body are composed of international students and minorities, and through cross-cultural exchange, they produce independent human resources with diverse values and general education that are highly motivated to learn and can play an active role around the world.

➌What can you achieve during your study abroad?

Because the number of students in one class is small and the background of the students is diverse, the environment is in place to change the awareness of different cultures and to acquire the ability to disseminate logical information and improve them. Also, through internships, an environment in which students can learn about problems in modern society from experience is established.

In other words, I believe that studying abroad will help students develop the skills that need to be improved, and that they will be able to gain practical experience through internships. I believe  that by being able to appeal the presence of Japan to the world through my success and to be able to understand Japanese claims and positions accurately by others, I believe that I can contribute to the development of the Japanese economy and the revitalization of the global economy.

まとめ：４年間の留学計画をエクセルなどを活用することで視覚的に理解しやすくする

JASSO日本学生支援機構学部学位取得型の応募書類には決められた枠内であれば表現方法は自由となっています。

しかし、質問事項に番号が振られている説明文の意図を汲み取り、審査員の方が応募者の回答をたどれるような構成には最低限する必要があると思います。

私の応募書類は全ての番号が質問事項に一致するように応募書類を作成しました。

また、表、グラフ、写真を用いるのも有効ではないかと思いました。

実際に私はエクセルから表を取り込み４年間の留学計画を時系列で説明するために利用しました。

海外留学の費用を工面するために給付型の奨学金を探している方も多いのではないでしゅうか？

奨学金の募集要項などの情報は毎年更新されていますが、検索をしてたどり着いた情報が更新されておらず使えない経験をされた方もいるのではないでしょうか？
