【JASSO】アメリカ留学への給付型奨学金〜Why do you want to study abroad?

➊What is your dream within 20~30 years?

My dream is to work as a macroeconomic expert in an international organization. I would like to work hard to revitalize the global economy, solve economic problems, and promote multilateral trade. Additionally, I would like to help Japan, which is considered to have a weak ability to disseminate information, to understand Japanese claims and positions more accurately by others.

❷What are the factors of your dream?

 (1)I have a Korean friend, but due to the economic problems between Japan and South Korea, I am temporarily on bad terms with him. I thought that solving economic problems would be beneficial in other areas, therefore I decided to contribute to help to find the solution.

(2) When I studied abroad, I came to realize the significance of diversity through a class in which a group of several people made a joint paper based on a book. There were differences in the background of culture and nationality from my friends, and it was difficult to put together various opinions. However, through the process of organizing and collaborating on opinions from various perspectives, I was able to come across new ideas and points of view. To solve economic problems, I think it would be effective to work for an international organization where colleagues from diverse backgrounds can work together.

➌How are YOU look like in the future?

I want to be a person with the ability to transmit information and curiosity, unafraid of failure, and to be able to take on various challenges. To work for an international organization, I would like to develop the ability to judge things calmly from a neutral standpoint and solve economic problems.

❹What do you have already, and what you need?

Advanced capabilities are required to solve economic problems on a global scale with peers from various backgrounds. For example, based on specialized knowledge about economies and cross-cultural understanding, we need the ability to carry out decisions through the dissemination of information and communication. I have traveled about 1000 kilometers from Kanagawa to Fukuoka Prefecture by bicycle with my best friend, where I had the opportunity to deepen my interaction with the locals, and completed the journey that I decided on. That is why I believe I have acquired the ability to communicate and execute. Moreover, I have abilities that need to be improved further which I want to acquire through four years of studying abroad in the United States.

❺How do you improve yourself?

Liberal Arts University in the United States offers a small number of discussion-focused classes, and many students usually live in university dormitories. Also, they have a double major system that allows students to major in two fields at the same time from a wide range of options. Therefore, not only English is used, but also a wide range of education, cross-cultural understanding, and the ability to transmit logical information are in place to improve me.

❻Why, not Japanese University?

I believe that studying at a liberal arts university in the United States would be an effective step in achieving a dream. Modern economies are complex and cannot be solved by the values of a single country due to globalization. In this way, I feel that multinational people must discuss in a culturally diverse environment. I think the United States is the best place to learn about the actual economic situation because of the worlds top gross domestic product . Also, New York, the center of the global economy, have headquarters of the United Nation and many companies. Additionally, I believe that the flexibility to respond to a wide range of education, such as liberal arts and double major systems, that are not widely used in Japan and other countries, will expand the possibilities for dreams.

❼How important your study abroad is?

I may need to face a difficult situation in the process of trying to acquire the power I lack. However, if I was able to study in the United States, I would be able to overcome the various difficulties I face in my future and an international organization without giving up. Therefore, I believe that studying abroad is an opportunity to get much closer to the dream of working for an international organization.

JASSO日本学生支援機構学部学位取得型の応募書類には決められた枠内であれば表現方法は自由となっています。

しかし、質問事項に番号が振られている説明文の意図を汲み取り、審査員の方が応募者の回答をたどれるような構成には最低限する必要があると思います。

私の応募書類は全ての番号が質問事項に一致するように応募書類を作成しました。
